This course discusses the mental, physical, and ethical consequences of un-managed stress and burnout in attorneys. This on-demand webinar is created by an attorney who is also a wellness/life coach and certified in stress management coaching. The goal is to provide attorneys with the tools to better manage stress.
In the first portion of the course, you will narrow your current stressors and apply the stress management steps to your current stressors. The webinar defines and discusses stress in general and explains and defines different types of stress. The course discusses the factors that create high stress in attorneys and explains the side effects of not managing stress including mental, physical, and ethical consequences, and ultimately burnout.
The second portion discusses four-steps to better managing stress. You can apply those four steps to your current stressors as the course explains the four steps. The four steps include helping you recognize, understand, and manage your daily pressures and stressors with positive stress responses. You will learn how to identify and recognize your stress triggers and responses. The course concludes with explaining and providing four types of coping skills to help you manage stress including : 1) adjusting thinking patterns; 2) organizing/simplifying their lives; 3) relaxation techniques; and 4) accepting the help of others.
